Trend Watch- Autumn Winter 2022 Fashion Trends
With Autumn/Winter Fashion shows now concluded we’ve compiled a list of the top fashion trends that will dominate the 2022-2023 season.
Not much will change as we phase into autumn from summer. Mini skirts and tank tops are consistently presented in a majority of Prada, Chloé, Miu Miu, Coperni, and Bottega runway looks.
The staple flight jacket made an impact on the runway across multiple brands, some stayed true to their origin while others incorporated the silhouette into new designs.
Corsets are having a major comeback in all fabric and designs. Making it a symbol of empowerment. Dior evolves the corset to reflect a bulletproof vest like Balmain who presented the corset as a form of body armor. While Fendi makes it a chic staple addition to your wardrobe.
The longest living staple in the book (along with the white tank top) is denim. Denim never dies, it takes on new forms, carries new embellishments, is ripped up, and patched together. Skinny is nestled in the back of our closets while a slouchy more comfortable fit replaces it.
As the aforementioned slouchy denim contends its position. It transcends into trousers with wide legs and a loose fit, delivering a blast from the past with a touch of glamour.
Remaining uniform with the everlasting classics leather, and tailoring. Full leather or tailored look is for contemporaneous femme fatales.
The catwalk dares our self-confidence to not hide beneath our clothes rather emphasizes our silhouettes. The sheer, lace, and silks dominated the runways and will urge individuals to incorporate a nontraditional look into an everyday outfit.
It’s rare to see something new on the runway, reinventing denim, suits, or jackets is like reinventing the wheel. Nevertheless, the Fall/ Winter fashion shows were impressive and if nothing else, a stimulant that old can look new when created by designers who want to put a bit of themselves into their work.
